Julia Simeone has been surrounded by music ever since she was born and violin became an instant passion for her when she started learning at a very young age. She is now an enthusiastic and patient teacher that has dedicated her life to sharing her passion in lessons and performances.

Julia loves having the opportunity to share music with others and loves helping her students grow as musicians and people. As a Suzuki-Certified violin teacher, Julia believes that learning music not only assists students in growing their artistic capabilities, but also expands into every aspect of their lives. As a psychology major, Julia learned how important it is to be empathetic of others’ situations, so she recognizes that every student is different and strives to tailor each lesson to suit each student’s needs. Julia ensures that each lesson is a positive and enjoyable experience by maintaining open communication between the student, parent, and teacher.

Julia graduated from Seton Hill University with a degree in Psychology and from Slippery Rock University with a degree in Violin Performance. Julia actively performs around Pittsburgh. She is a violinist in the Westmoreland and Butler Symphonies, plays in various musicals, and has experience as concertmaster and soloist with different ensembles.

When Julia is not playing or teaching violin, she enjoys running, writing, painting, and spending time with her wonderful family. She looks forward to meeting you and your student and is excited to start lessons with you soon!

Teaching Philosophy

My approach is rooted in the Suzuki method's belief that every child can learn. I focus on creating a supportive environment where students feel safe to explore their musical voice, prioritizing joy and curiosity alongside technical mastery.

Lessons are tailored to the unique rhythms of each student. We break down complex skills into manageable steps, ensuring consistent progress and building the confidence needed to tackle new challenges with grace.

Specifically for homeschool families, I offer flexible morning scheduling and integrate music history and theory into our sessions, providing a comprehensive fine arts credit that fits seamlessly into your daily curriculum.
